OPERATION ALPHA Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery’s Founder and and CEO disabled U S Marine Corps veteran Travis Barnes started Operation Alpha in in 2014 as a a a a a a a a a a a a a way to raise funds for HVAF’s operations programs and and services Thanks to to our amazing sponsors attendees and supporters – we we were able to to raise $10 000 more than than the year before! We are so so thankful for for everyone who supports our veterans and continues to to make Operation Operation Alpha Alpha a a a a a a a a a a a success For the first time in in five years Operation Operation Alpha Alpha took place at at at The Biltwell Event Center The event space was perfect as as it included a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a lobby for for for registration drinks and and and games a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a room for for for the program and and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a back patio for for for a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a cigar veranda This year’s event included the the traditional military-inspired Grog Bowl Ceremony that everyone looks forward to watching and grabbing a a a a a a a a a a a canteen cup so they can can drink from the the the bowl! Attendees also had a a a a a a a a a a blast playing our wine toss entering for a a a a a a a a a a chance to to win win a a a a a a a a a a nice bottle of whisk(e)y hanging out out with each other outside on the the the cigar veranda and and and and and enjoying unlimited drinks courtesy of Hotel Tango spirits Upland and and and and and Sun King beer and and and and and The Wine Group wine Thank you to WTHR’s Sarah Jones for being our virtual emcee this year!
Despite all all all of the challenges with 2020
– – and thanks to our amazing supporters – – HVAF’s Operation Alpha was a a a a a a a a a a a HIT! Originally scheduled in in in November HVAF HVAF made the the the decision to to cancel the the the in-person event due to to the the the rise in in COVID-19 cases Fortunately HVAF’s Operation Alpha could still take place virtually! On December 12 HVAF hosted its first ever virtual Operation Alpha over Zoom Despite not being able to hang out and raise funds in in in person 60+ supporters joined online with their cigars whisk(e)y and donations The virtual event still incorporated Operation Alpha’s traditions including a a a a a a a a a pre-recorded version of the the military-inspired Grog Bowl Ceremony and and the newly popular cigar cigar & & whisk(e)y whisk(e)y pulls With sponsorships event packages cigar cigar & & whisk(e)y whisk(e)y pull pull purchases and and donations – HVAF’s Operation Alpha raised $80 000!
